Be a Blessing….

As we approach another year of the pandemic, I tend to reflect back….years 2020-2022 have been  growing years for me.  I’ve learned that family is important, that friends matter and that love no matter how fickle is possible.  I’ve learned to care for others more than myself and to put those important to me in the forefront.  Don’t worry, I also talk about being stable before helping others, but literally, I may have put my mask on before helping others, but I’ve also developed a different character to myself.  Crazy enough I’ve missed the company of others, and I’ve grown to  love and cherish my family, but  I’ve also found that I’m more than capable of being on my own.  I’m learning to enjoy my own company.  And in coming out of the pandemic, letting go of the solitude has taken some getting used to.

Stepping back out into the world, I find that wanting to help others may wear on you. I want to give and i want to be needed but I sometimes find it to be exhausting.  Being a support system can be tiring and draining. Yeah it takes a lot.

But I’ve also learned that there’s an upside—that it strengthens your character and helps you to appreciate what you possess and currently have in your life.  Others may lean on you, but  the weight that you carry tends to also make you stronger.  Helping others can be a blessing–it is God’s intent and purpose, and being a benefit to others not only releases you, but builds you up.  Possessions aren’t as important to me.  In fact the only things I spend money on these days (outside the normal bills and groceries) are yoga pants and puppy toys, food and treats.  No expensive handbags, clothing or shoes to speak of. I don’t have take as much care for my tresses. 2022, this has been a growing period for me and no matter how trying, its been a better year; a time when I can take time out to help, contribute and be a blessing to others. A year to cherish everything in my life.
