This is a time when nothing is ever certain..America, it’s state and our futures and everything related to our futures is unknown. The country has been on lock-down. Families are separated and it seems as though nothing will ever be the same again. Nothing is certain and nothing is guaranteed. The state of the world and uncertain; and there are no suspense dates or timetables for anyone or anything. For many life is spent living in a bubble; a wrinkle in time and a moment of reflect for everyone. People are confined and everyone’s time can be ended in a moment.
Loved ones are passing with the fear that if they contract the Covid-19 Virus, they’ll never see their loved ones again before dying; and are being laid to rest—without a decent going home ceremony. I never thought it would come to this. I never thought that there would ever be a time when the decency of a proper burial would be my main concern. I always said that I wanted my ashes spread from every corner of the globe; but then I also want the true dignity that came with a final going home dedication where friends and family could be present. So Fam, is this what it’s come to? Is it guaranteed that we will see our loved ones receive their true respect and have their lives and accomplishments recognized and celebrated? Nope. So are there other ways we can give our flowers to those we love? Perhaps we can reach out to our elders and touch them, perhaps give them their roses while they’re still living. Send them some groceries, cut their grass, tend to their gardens, call them, Facetime them, tell someone that them you recognize and truly love them. Don’t let your loved one leave without having them know their true value. Call them, love on them and give them their praises and appreciation them while they’re still here. Fam, honor them and give them their roses while they can still smell the true beauty in life!
